The drafting of Basiglio's Territorial Government Plan posed some preliminary questions to the creation and sharing of the project, related to the nature of the action that was to be undertaken, and related to the actual contents to be proposed for the governance of the territory in the coming years.
The territory, nature, status and composition of Basiglio are quite peculiar: the municipality,from a small hamlet nestled in the South Milan Agricultural Park, developed suddenly through a single residential episode. From being a small town and a small, purely agricultural settlement, far from the capital city, Basiglio was suddenly reattached to the fate of the nearest Milan. The territory expresses its own particular nature, related to being a mature territory, in its central part corresponding to the core of Basiglio, and to being a consolidated territory, in its larger part.
The resulting TMP project responds to these two characteristics and formulates policies, projects and actions precisely for a mature and consolidated territory. The TMP builds its image in the search for a centrality uniting the parts of Basiglio, recovering the concept of vital plug so dear to much rationalist planning, and translating it into the possibility of thinking of a central system, with a very strong public connotation, gathered around the irrigation ditch, and along which to consolidate the system of personal services in which the municipality seriously intends to invest: It is a plan whose image focuses everything on redevelopment
The Goals of the TMP are thus: Building the future, Giving quality to a mature territory, Developing a sustainable city, Giving balance to a consolidated territory.
The master plan "Basiglio: building a sustainable future" identifies six cities for building the vision for the municipal territory: green city, sports city, culture city, solidarity city, childhood city and sustainability city
